N.C. Land and Water Fund

The N.C. Land and Water Fund was established in 1966 by the NC General Assembly to protect and preserve North Carolina’s land and water resources. The organization awards grants to non-profits and governmental agencies to fund projects on land acquisition, stream restorations, and innovative stormwater treatments that protect water quality.

With appropriations made each year in the state budget, the N.C. Land and Water Fund has helped preserve the natural, cultural, and historical open spaces of North Carolina by protecting over a half-million acres and nearly 5,000 miles of stream buffers.
