How North Carolina's Conservation Trust Funds are protecting our mountains, coastlines, farmland, and communities — one project at a time.

North Carolina's natural heritage is the foundation of our economy, our image on the national stage, and a source of pride for every Carolinian from the mountains to the coast. The Conservation Trust Funds - Land and Water Fund, Parks and Recreation Fund, and Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation Fund - work as the primary tools for protecting our valuable natural resources.

Through partnerships with local land trusts, state and local government, and nonprofits, these funds bring much-needed capital to conservation projects that safeguard drinking water, preserve working farmland, expand public parks, and protect wild places that make North Carolina unlike anywhere else.
