How North Carolina's Conservation Trust Funds are protecting our mountains, coastlines, farmland, and communities — one project at a time.
North Carolina's natural heritage is the foundation of our economy, our image on the national stage, and a source of pride for every Carolinian from the mountains to the coast. The Conservation Trust Funds - Land and Water Fund, Parks and Recreation Fund, and Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation Fund - work as the primary tools for protecting our valuable natural resources.
Through partnerships with local land trusts, state and local government, and nonprofits, these funds bring much-needed capital to conservation projects that safeguard drinking water, preserve working farmland, expand public parks, and protect wild places that make North Carolina unlike anywhere else.
The projects below represent our commitment to the communities that call this state home and to the generations who will inherit what we protect today.
